Cycling Ireland National Place to Place Records Women October 2020 [Reference: 2]

Report

Donncha Cuttriss of Over the Hill Cycling Club set a new Mizen Head to Malin Head Cycling Record on 13 September 2020, when he completed the cycle in 17 Hours, 36 Minutes and 45 Seconds.

Most Women’s Records have stood since the 1950s, with Miss I Woods / Clements holding the Belfast to Dublin and Derry to Dublin records since 1953 and 1956 respectively. Eileen Sheridan has held the Dublin to Cork and Dublin to Galway records for as long (1953 and 1952 respectively).

The Irish Kenpo Karate Union Open 2019, held in Dublin featured fighters from Scorland (Yamakai) and Wales (Welsh Karate Kai) as well as Ireland.

In the Girls Kumite, Kaizen Ireland won three Gold Medals, IKKU took two Gold Medals, and 3 Rivers and Yamakai (Scotland) one each. In the Boys Kumite, IKKU won two Gold Medals with 5 Clubs winning one each (Kaizen Ireland, Wadokai Ireland Karate Association, WSKF Ireland, 3 Rivers and Claudy Karate Club).

The Female Cadet to Junior Section saw two of the five Gold Medals go to IKKU, with WSKF Ireland, Pat Rockett Martial Arts Waterford and 3 Rivers obtaining one each. In the Male Cadet to Junior Section IKKU won four Gold Medals, Yamakai from Scotland won one and Kaizen Ireland one.

The Senior Female Gold Medals both went to IKKU (Shauna Mullaney and Justyne Collins), while in the Male Senior Conor O’Sullivan (WSKF Ireland) and Greg Macauley (Yamakai – Scotland) took the two Gold Medals. In the Male Senior Novice there was one Gold Medal on Offer, won by Rory O’Riordan IKKU), and in the Male Veteran, Eamonn Yore (Ireland Wadokai Kartate Association) took the one Gold Medal on offer.

Robyn Byrne finished top of the Ladies Irish National Darts Organisation Rankings in 2015 with 62 points with Linda Harte in second on 57. Byrne put in a exemplary Final Event, scoring 6 points on the Saturday in Ennis, Co. Clare and then taking the maximum 8 points in the Irish National Singles on the Sunday. Byrne and Harte were level on 48 Points coming into the Event, the Seventh and Final one of the year.

Lucha Libre AAA Triplemania XXIV 2018 [Reference: 2-3]

In the most recent Lucha Libre AAA Triplemania Event (as of 5 October 2020) – Triplemania XXIV, held in Arena Ciudad Mexico City, Psycho Clown won the main event, after beinf betrayed by Dr. Wagner Jr, by finally beating Pagano, taking the barber to Pagano’s hair, and pummeling each other with various objects in a bloody fight. Dr. Wagner Jr challenged Prsycho Clown after the event to a fight at Triplemania XXIV.

Triplemania XXIV started off with the Copa Triplemania Event, where Australian Suicide defeated Daga. This was followed by the anticipated Mens versus Womens fight, but El Apache, who was invited to be referee by Averno and Chessman, betrayed them to support his daughters Mary and Faby Apache and after the fight Ricky Marvin appeared and the three Rudos massacred the family, an act which merits revenge.

Next up was the Pairs (Parejas) where Aerostar and DRago were crowned Champions, and then it was on to Campeonato Latinoamericano AAA, where Johnny Mundo finally captured the belt with a victory over Pentagon Jr, after the blond Taya turned his back on Pentagon Jr, fouling him and betraying Los Perros del Mal by siding with Johnny Mundo.

The next Event was Lucha Underground, where Rey Misterio came back to Mexico and AAA, and led his team, Prince Puma and Aztec Drago Jr to victory over Matnza Cueto, Marty “The Moth” Martinez and Mil Muertes. This was followed by the semifinal bout, where Texano Jr, despite being beaten, retained the MegaCampeonato de AAA, after defeating Brian Cage, and with that Dr. Wagner Jr, who finished covered in blood. After the match he received a severe beating from Team Trump, which couldn’t be countered even with the appearance of several “Tecnicos”.

The Main Event finished up the evening with Psycho Clown, despite being betrayed by Dr. Wagner Jr, and being severely beaten, took the barber to Pagano’s hair, finally defeating him. After the event, Dr Wagner Jr challenged Psycho Clown to the belt at Triplemania XXV, which was accepted by the Tecnico.

Lucha Libre is Mexico’s answer to American Wrestling, or for that matter Greco-Roman Wrestling (the version favoured by the Olympics). Characters are usually dressed in vibrant colours, and what makes it stand out compared to WWE, is that the wresters usually wear masks.

Coin Rugby (AKA Push-Penny)

Coin Rugby

Also known as Push-Penny, Coin Rugby is a Childrens Game played with three coins and a table.

Rules

Decide which side of the table each player plays from. Then toss a coin to see who starts. The first player starts with the three coins placed in the centre of the table. Using either the tip or side of his forefinger the player should hit (but not push) the coins so ideally they spread out. Once this has bee done the same player, heading towards his opponents side of the table, has to hit the rear-most coin towards between the other two.

If he is successful he repeats this action, again trying to hit the rear-most coin between the other two. He or She continues this action until they either fail (upon which play passes to the opponent) or they reach a coin width of their opponents goal line. If he or she is successful in doing this the player scoresa try worth 5 points. If the coin goes over the line completely it is out of play and a fail and the other player takes over from the centre of the table again.

If a try is successful, then a conversion attempt is made. The player scoring the try makes a fist with both hands and places them on the table and then with the coin between two fingers attempts to flip them through goalposts made by the opponent on his own goalline with his forefingers pointing down touching the table and the two thumbs touching, making a goalpost. This worth two points. The other player restarts from the centre.

Alternative scoring is to get the coin to balance over the edge of your opponents goalline / table edge and then flick it up with your finger to catch it for a try. failing to flick it up or catch it is a fail. Another way to attempt the conversion is to spin the coin and then try to catch it beteen two thumbs before flicking it through goalposts. Players could play both versions and call one Rugby Union and the other Rugby League.

The first player to 20 points or more is the winner.

South Mayo 1 defeated Ballina 1 by a score of 7-2 in the Mayo District Darts Leagues Team Championship in the Ivy Tower Hotel in 2020. Other Leagues’ Teams competing were Erris (Shield winners), Westport 2 (Plate winners), as well as South Mayo 2, Ballina 2, East Mayo, Castlebar 1 & 2 and Westport 1.

The Championship is for representative teams of the Darts Leagues in Mayo (Ballina, Castlebar, East Mayo, Erris, South Mayo and Westport.
