Report

Following claims of sexism the Lingerie Football League ditched the Lingerie Kit the Women had to wear and adopted shorts and crop-tops, changing its name to the Legends Football League in the process.

The newly-named Legends Cup was won in 2013 by Chicago Bliss, 33-14 over Philadelphia Passion. They won again the following year, 24-18 over Atlanta Steam. They were unable to win three-in-a-row however, losing the 2015 Cup 27-21 to Seattle Mist, before gaing revenge in Legends Cup 2016, beating the same opposition 31-26.

The 2017 edition of the Legends Cup went back to Seattle with the Mist defeating Atlanta Steam 38-28, before Chicago Bliss became the winningest team in Legends Cup History with victory in the 2019 Legends Cup, defeating Austin Acoustic 28-20

Report

The Lingerie Bowl started in 2004 as a rival to the NFL Super Bowl Half-Time Show, featuring two teams of scantilly-clad acresses and models.

By 2009 it had become a fully-fledged League: The Lingerie Football League, with 10 teams divided into an Eastern & Western Conference, playing 7v7 Tackle Football although with very little protection in terms of padding or kit. The Eastern Conference consisted of Chicago Bliss, Miami Caliente, Tampa Breeze, Philadelphia Passion and New York Majesty, and the Western Conference consisted of Los Angeles Temptation, Dallas Desire, Seattle Mist, Denver Dream and San Diego Seduction. The season consisted of 4 Regular Season Matches, plus Playoffs,.

Lingerie Bowl VII won by Los Angeles Temptation, 27-14 over Chicago Bliss. The 2010-11 season saw Orlando Fantasy & Baltimore Charm replace New York Majesty and Denver Dream. The 2011 Lingerie Bowl was won by Los Angeles again, 26-25 over Philadelphia Passion, and they completed the three-in-a-row in 2012, again defeating the Paasion, this time by a more comfortable margin 28-6.

There was an expansion for the 2011-12 season, going from 10-12 teams with the addition of Minnesota Valkyrie, Green Bay Chill, Toronto Triumph, Las Vegas Sin and Cleveland Crush. Miami Caliente, Dallas Desire and San Diego Seduction left the League

Following criticism of the kit the players were wearing, with claims the League was sexist, the League changed its name to the Legends Football League for the 2012-13 season, and played in Beach Volleyball-style shorts and crop-tops rather than Lingerie.

Report

The Lingerie Bowl was conceived as a Rival to the NFL Super Bowl Half-Time Show which some fans had said was too boring and long.

It was aired at the same time as the Super Bowl Half-Time Show on a Rival Network, and featured two teams of scantilly-clad Models & Actresses, repesenting New York Euphoria & Los Angeles Temptation. Euphoria won Lingerie Bowls I & III.

Lingerie Bowls IV-VI were cancelled, the first two due to failing to reach agreement with a TV Network, and VI due to a dispute with a local Nudist Resort near Tampa Bay, where it was due to be played.

The one-off Bowl became the Lingerie Football League in 2010, playing a full season.

Report

Olympic Handball, also known as Team Handball, or European Handball,  is a team sport invented in Northern Europe around the early 1900s. It is similar to Water Polo, whereby players try to throw a ball with their hands into a goal at either end. It is played indoors on the same court as a Futsal court, with the same markings.

Players aren’t allowed run with the ball but on receiving it have to pass it to a team-mate. The goal is to get into a semi-circle around the opposing team’s goal where the attacking player can make a shot.

Dublin International, based in Blanchardstown, won the double in 2011-2012, defeating surprise team DCU in the Final after winning the League, but were shocked the following season, 35-31, in the Final by Ballinteer’s Astra.

Astra would win the League in 2013-2014, but Dublin International would win the Final, repeating as winners the next year, 37-31 over UCD, after Astra had won the League only to be shocked by UCD in the Semi-Finals.

The 2015-16 season would see Dublin International win the double, again defeating UCD in the Final, on a scoreline of 27-21. Dublin City Handball would finally get their hands on the Trophy in 2016-17, winning the double by beating Astra 26-18 in the Final. After winning the League again in 2017-18, Dublin City would fall short in the Final, losing 28-26 to Dublin International, the old guard winning back the Trophy they had won every second year since 2012.

Regular Season

Defending Champions Dublin City won the regular season dropping only one match to Dublin International at the start of the season. also qualifying for the semi-finals were Dublin International, newcomers Dublin Wings, and Astra, who put up a good new year’s run. [2][3]

Semi-Finals

Dublin City 30 Astra 26: Astra’s good post-new year run ended in the playoffs as time ran out as they closed in on the defending champions, losing in the end by a narrow four-goal margin.[3]

Dublin International 41 Dublin Wings 30: Experience told over youth as the league’s newcomers were no match for Dublin International, who pulled away from a 19-18 halftime lead to win comfortably.[3]

Final

Dublin City 26 Dublin International 28: Dublin International returned to dominance in the IOHA Men’s league after missing out on the Final in 2017. Despite a strong performance from Dublin City, and home-court advantage in DCU, they failed to prevent Dublin International bringing the title back to Phibblestown, where it has an almost permanent place. The final scoreline was extremely close, ending 28-26 in DIHC’s favour.[4]
