League Organisation

Donegal Indoor Bowls is a zone in the Irish Indoor Bowling Association. The DM Waste League is the Second Tier of two Divisions in the League. Each Division plays a double round-robin (Home & Away) against teams from their own division. There is automatic promotion and relegation between the two divisions with the top two in the DM Waste League replacing the bottom two in the Nixon Alexander Financial League (Second Level) every season.

There were no Irish Qualifiers for the Semi-Finals, which were dominated by Great British players, making up 6 of the 8 contestants.

Gina Wardle, who finished 4th in the Semi-Final Round, won three matches in a row in the Final Stepladder to take the title, beating Pauline Smith, a fellow British player in the Final.

Ireland’s Philip Dunne narrowly failed to reach the Final Stepladder in the Irish Open Tenpin Bowling Championship, finishing just 6 skittles off a Top 4 Place.

Britain’s Del Delaney went on to win the Championship, defeating the Dutchman Mat Thompson 188 to 163 in the Final. Ireland’s Paul Magee (8th) and Joe Pearce (12th) also reached the Semi-Final Round in the Stillorgan Bowl
